Holiday Happy Hour: The Ginger Bell

Want to bring something fresh and different to the holiday party this year? How about a cocktail!

The Ginger Bell

How many times do you hear people say “more mashed potatoes?” or “great, ANOTHER mac and cheese” during the holidays? Here’s a perfect opportunity for you to spice things up…literally. Ginger is one of the most enjoyed spices during the holidays, from cake to a garnish on yams. Continue the trend with a holiday inspired cocktail recipe.

What you’ll need:

2 oz. Bourbon

2 sprigs of fresh mint

1/2 lemon cut into discs

1 small chunk of fresh ginger root, shaved

Ginger Beer for a finisher (don’t mix in before you shake)

Cranberries/Cherries to garnish

Mix all of the ingredients in a shaker and muddle well until everything breaks down together. Shake with ice and strain into a coupe or martini glass, top with fresh ginger beer and garnish with cranberries or cherries.

Voila! A fancy, delicious, strong cocktail. We know you’ll need one to deal with all of Uncle Al’s stories.
