‘Tis the season. Might as well drink like it.
This holiday season, do yourself a favor and be prepared. There’s nothing worse than showing up to a party, excited to enjoy some delicious food and drink, only to realize that they went the cheap route and bought bad spirits or refrained from buying them altogether. To avoid this horrible scenario, just grab ingredients yourself and show up the the party ready to go.
One of the most satisfying cocktails during the cold months of winter is the Hot Toddy. It’s just boozy enough to get you a nice buzz, just warm enough to keep you comfortable, and the flavor is so perfectly winterized that it completes the trifecta. In order to enjoy your holiday to the maximum and probably end up sharing what you bring…here’s what you’ll need for each drink:
1.5 oz Bourbon Whiskey
.25 oz Lemon Juice
1 tsp Brown Sugar
Fill up your mug with boiling water in order to warm the cup. Once it sits for about 15-30 seconds, dump that water. Then mix the bourbon, lemon juice, cloves, and sugar in the mug. Add fresh hot water on top of the other ingredients to fill the mug. Stir several times to dissolve the sugar. Garnish with a lemon twist and serve!
